Biography

I am a PNW native, having grown up in Bothell and then the Lake City neighborhood of Seattle.  I moved out of state for college but was so glad to move home to raise my family here.  I love the trees, the mountains, and of course the Seahawks!

My husband Michael and I have lived in Mill Creek since 2003. We have five children, aged 14 – 25; they’ve gone to school here in Mill Creek (Woodside, Cedar Wood, Mill Creek, Heatherwood, and Jackson), played softball and baseball with Mill Creek Little League, soccer with Silver Lake Soccer, football and cheer with the Jr Wildcats organization, etc.  Our three oldest have gone off to college and are currently studying out of state.

I have been a stay-at-home mom all these years and as the kids have gotten older I’ve taken on community volunteering positions.  I have been a mom’s group coordinator, a room parent, a team parent, a classroom volunteer, a food bank volunteer, and the Popcorn Kernal for the Boy Scout Troop (truly the best name for any volunteer position I’ve ever held).  I am a catechist at our church, the treasurer for my son’s band boosters, and a member of the PTA.  I am the leader of two Girl Scout Troops and a leader in our local Girl Scout Service Unit where I serve as Encamporee Director for our twice-yearly camp weekends and coordinate the Girl Scout Cookie Sale for the Mill Creek and South Everett areas.  This February I was honored to become a member of the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Western Washington.

The last few years I have been volunteering with the City.  It began with leading groups of Girl Scouts and Cub/Boy Scouts at City events like the Memorial Day ceremony, Veterans Day parade, Santa Parade, Mill Creek Festival and so forth.  I really enjoyed being involved in the City and decided to get more involved on my own.  I helped plan the 2021 graduate parade.  In April of 2021, I was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Board and have served as the Chair since the fall of 2022.  In that capacity, I am working to bring several park upgrades to Mill Creek including a fenced tot lot at Library Park.  I helped write the voters pamphlet submission for the 2022 Fire Annexation because I wanted to make sure voters understood the choice in front of them.  I enjoy helping out at city events whenever I am available and participate in the Adopt-a-street program.

I look forward to many more years in Mill Creek and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for us!
